Do you remember when we sent postcards to each other, back in the days? No? Well, it’s not strange if you don’t. Everyone receives about sixty-five Whats-App messages a day. These days almost everyone is online. It’s rare when someone puts their phone away when something spectacular happens. And have they really seen what was going on? No, they were too busy making pictures of it. What about sending postcards to your friends? Putting on lipstick to later create a cute kiss-image on a postcard using your lips. Using tons of pens in all different colors to bright it all up. Where are they now?

Back in the days

Whats-App is actually really boring, compared with the old-fashioned postcards. I do not think smartphones are bad and need to disappear. But I do think it’s unhealthy to always be online, and I also think it would be nice to have some of the old-fashioned communicating ways back. So when I saw this new App, I was really surprised.

What is it? This new App is called ‘Punkpost’. In the App, you can create a postcard and spice it up with a lot of different stamps.

Send me a postcard honey

Why is it cool? After you have designed your Punkpost, designers of Punkpost will start making your postcard (in real life, so no email-postcards or anything like that) and will send it to the recipient. Your recipient (mother, sister or anyone) will receive a postcard designed just for them (by you!) on their doormat. How personal and loving can it be?

It can last…

I think if things like this are thriving, maybe the old-fashioned communicating ways can be revived. I don’t think people don’t want to send postcards, but the lack of time these days ruins it. Because a Whats-App text is simply much faster than a postcard. Still, a postcard once in a while will make a lot of people smile! ;) (The Punkpost-App is available in the App-Store).
