This blogpost will be a little bit different from my other ones, because this 'coolhunt', I developed myself. I joined the Victoria Foster challenge last month, and had to develope a format on how communication would look like in 2030. I had multiple workshops from designer and futurist Niek Pulles, at the Spoorzone in Tilburg. We did some creative excercises to get started, and began to think about crazy things.
What is it? After all the workshops, I had developed a format called The TrendEye. The TrendEye is a sensor, which would be standing in public places like the supermarket or a park. The sensor screens everybody who's walking in that area, and can look into people's brain. The TrendEye can see what people think and see what they are doing. Based on the information the TrendEye gathers, trendwatchers (like Victoria Foster which the assignment was for) can base new trends on those outcomes. If the trendwatchers pass these outcomes to companies, companies can furfill the needs of the consumer before the consumer has even outspoken they have that certain need.

Why is it cool? I think the TrendEye (which I developed myself so I have to be like extremely positive right ;-)) is a very improving thing. How nice would it be if your needs are being furfulled before you have even outspoken them? But there's also a thing about privacy, and that's why I think the TrendEye fits into the trend 'The Open World'. Everything people think and do will be monitored by the TrendEye. I can believe this will decrease the privacy people have. In this way, there will be literally an open world because NOTHING can be hidden anymore. But if I'm honest, I think communication (in this way from the consumer to trendwatchers and companies) will be like this and there will be no privacy left anymore.
I'm really curious about what you guys think about this concept! I won second prize with it, and won 500 euros so that's something I'm quite proud at, so I wanted to share it with you guys!
