Working in the city

I work at a bar, so I get to move a lot during a shift. But I believe when you have like a ‘mature’ job which you have studied for, you get to sit a lot during the day (of course there are exceptions but I’m talking about office jobs now). Time to get rid of that!

What is it? Robb Godshaw and Will Doenien developed a product called ’The hamster wheel standing desk’. This desk is actually a hamster wheel, just like the little ones in your grandma’s hamster cave. While working, you can walk in the hamster wheel because in the hamster wheel there’s a build in desk. So you can bring your laptop and work during a fun workout.

Why is it cool? I think this hamster wheel is a very good thing because lots of people at office jobs sit all day and don’t get enough exercise. So I think if lots of offices get multiple hamster wheels, people will got to have the choice to move during work. It would also be effective because you can do two things at one moment! I also think this hamster wheel could be the beginning of a new way of working. That’s why I think it can be related to the trend ‘Sustainable cities’, because I’m immediately thinking of a city in which people work on creative ways. So a couple of hamster wheels in the city, some conference tables in the middle of a park, etcetera. I think when people keep inventing things like this, the city can rise up and be way more creative and open-minded!

I think I’ll get one hamster wheel myself, maybe during watching Netflix? Haha.
