How to lose a bottle in 10 minutes

Remember how you used to buy plastic water bottles at the supermarket? Well, in a couple of years people will not find this normal anymore. Because a new way of drinking water from has ‘arisen’: the bottle made out of algae.

What is it? This bottle made from algae was designed by a man named Ari. As I said, it’s a bottle made out of algae, which is 100% natural and 100% biodegradable. It serves as a regular bottle with water, but the difference is that when the bottle is empty, it starts to dissolve itself. The bottle made out of algae was exposed at the DesignMarch festival in Reykjavik.

Why is it cool?

I think this bottle of water is super cool. Of course it’s good for our environment, but also: a lot of fun to watch, right? I could spend my whole afternoon watching this bottle dissolve itself. I think it’s a good thing people are busy making things like this bottle. Pollution by plastic is a serious problem. I think this bottle can be related to the trend ‘The Open World’ because pollution is often in the news nowadays. Before the internet, there was pollution, but because of the internet everyone seems aware of it and everybody’s trying to do something about it by, for example, develop things like this bottle made out of algae.
